Aloe Vera - Plant whose leafs provide a gelatinous substance used in cosmetics.

 

Body Butter - Moisturizer designed to be applied to the body.

 

Botanical - Substance obtained from a plant. 

 

Cleanse - To clean and get rid of unwanted matter. 

 

Cocoa Butter - Pale yellow vegetable fat extracted from the cocoa bean and can contain a high amount of fats.

Has moisturizing capabilities and is usually used in personal care products. 

 

Collagen - Main component of connective tissue. 

 

Conditioner (Hair) -  Substance used to detangle and improve the condition of the hair.

 

Cream - Substance for softening, cleaning and moisturizing skin. 

 

Dermatological - Relating to the skin.  

 

Exfoliant - Substance to remove the oldest dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface, may help in 

maintaining healthy skin.  

 

Glycerin - Simple sugar alcohol compound which prevents skin dryness with its moisturizing properties. 

 

Face Mask - Personal care treatment for the face.  

 

Fragrance - An aroma compound that has a smell or odor which have an effect on the olfactory system. 

 

Lotion - Low to medium viscosity topical preparation for the skin. 

 

Moisturizer - Complex mixture designed to make external layers of the skin softer. It also increases the skin's

hydration. 

 

Scented - Containing a pleasant smell. 

 

Shampoo (Hair) - For the removal of dirt, oils, pollutants, and other undesired particles from the hair. 

 

Shea Butter - Slightly yellowish or ivory colored fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree (Vitellaria 

paradoxa). It's a triglyceride (fat) derived mainly from stearic acid and oleic acid. Widely used in cosmetics

as a moisturizer.  


Soap - Mainly used as surfactant for washing, bathing, and cleansing. It allows for insoluble particles to become

soluble in water. 

 

Triple Milled - Process where a soap is cut into small shreds for mixing or blending three times to make a

long lasting soap with a rich lather.
